How much do your custom cakes cost?
Each specialty cake is custom designed and created with care so prices vary depending on the final design. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with your event date, number of servings you need, and an ideas/pictures of the cake design you were interested in and we'll be happy to give you an estimate.
Are your cakes made from scratch or a mix?
Always from scratch. We use only the freshest, highest quality ingredients in our recipes. Fresh cracked eggs, real butter, pure cane sugar, and imported Madagascar Bourbon vanilla. In addition, we make an effort to try and utilize locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.
I don't like the taste of fondant, do you have other options?
Absolutely! We also offer european buttercream (which is also underneath every fondant covered cake). However, there are some designs that are only possible in fondant. Our fondant is made from scratch and is rolled extremely thin with a normal layer of buttercream underneath.
Do you offer tastings?
Yes, tastings are available for wedding and celebration cakes and are conducted in our home cake studio. There is a $20 tasting fee which is placed towards orders of $300.00 or more if you decide to book with us. The tasting includes up to 4 choices of cake and 6 choices of filling/icing. We do offer tastings for smaller events as well based on availability. However, we cannot place the fee towards orders under $300.00. Please contact us for more information.
How will my cake look?
We like to make each and every cake unique so we don't have a "set" design book to choose from. Most consultations are easily done over email and you can share elements of your event such as invitations, fabric/ribbon swatches, or general theme and we'll be more than happy to design your custom cake around those elements.
Also, feel free to share photos of cakes and event designs that you are drawn to and we can absolutely take elements of them and make a unique, one of a kind, cake fit to be the centerpiece of your event.
How far in advance should I place my order?
You are encouraged to contact us as soon as possible and place your order to reserve that date as we have a tendency to book up quickly on weekends.
Please allow a minimum of 72 hours notice for standard cupcakes and macarons, 2 weeks for custom cupcakes, custom macarons and most cakes under 40 servings, and 4 weeks for larger cakes and shaped (3D) cakes. Please note, these time frames are only guidelines and our ability to take orders is based on availability.
However, there may be some instances where we can accommodate last minute requests so please don't hesitate to contact us and we'll do our best accommodate your order.
How can I place an order?
The first step is to contact us in order to check that your event date is still available as we only accept a limited number every week to ensure a quality finished product. Additionally, please let us know the number of servings and type of design you were looking for (pictures are always welcome!) and we will be happy to provide an estimate.
What is your payment policy?
A non-refundable deposit of $100 or 50% of order total (whichever is less) is required in order to reserve your date as we operate on a first come first serve basis. The remaining balance is due 5 days before the date of delivery or pickup on custom cakes and desserts, or upon placement of order if it is less than 5 days. We accept cash, debit and credit cards. For weddings, the balance is due 2 weeks before.
Do you deliver?
Yes, we do offer delivery, regardless of order size, to the greater Sacramento area as well as most areas of the Bay Area. Orders over $150 include complimentary delivery within 15 miles of travel from the Natomas area. Please contact us for a delivery estimate for delivery further out or for orders under $150.
